Meet Your Therapist:
Angelica De Anda, LMHC, CMHS, EMMHS
Certified EMDR Therapist providing EMDR Therapy for Anxiety, Stress, & Trauma.
In-person therapy in Kirkland, WA & virtual therapy throughout WA State
Hello! I’m Angelica.
Hi, I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified EMDR Therapist, proud Latina, mom to a playground enthusiast, and collector of plants and random facts. I support women and BIPOC professionals who are ready to explore how their past might be showing up in the present - so they can reconnect with their worth and step into the fullness of who they are.
I’ve been practicing in Washington State since 2010 and have had the privilege of working with people across all ages (kids, teens, and adults), from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. My approach is holistic, rooted in curiosity, compassion, and helping clients better understand themselves and their relationships.
In my years working in community mental health, I witnessed the impact of complex trauma on teens trying to make sense of their world. And I’ve seen how, as adults, those same early experiences can quietly shape how we show up - in work, in relationships, and with ourselves. Through EMDR therapy, I help clients untangle the past so they can move forward with more clarity, confidence, and peace.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating - I get that. But it’s also one of the most powerful ways to invest in your healing and growth. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on this journey.
HEre’s what I believe about therapy:
This isn't about becoming someone "different."
Therapy is a neutral space where you can figure yourself out—giving you a chance to reflect, discover your strengths, and really get to know yourself in a deeper way.
The best investment you can make is in yourself.
Taking the leap to start counseling can be a scary, but it is one of the most beneficial ways a person can invest in yourself. We will work together to address the things that are holding you back from living your life fully. You will be the driving force, I will guide you through the change.
We can have fun along the way.
Therapy won’t always be about diving into heavy topics; it can also be a space to lighten up, share a few laughs, celebrate your wins, and explore the brighter side of life. Embracing humor in therapy adds a refreshing balance to the journey of self-discovery and growth.
I want you to know:
Your story is welcome here!

A bit more about who I am
I am a Millennial Latina - granddaughter of Mexican immigrants, daughter of Chicanos.
I’ve spent most of my life navigating the in-between. Being a white-presenting Latina often meant not feeling ‘brown enough’ in my own community, and never quite ‘white enough’ in predominantly White spaces. That space in the middle often left me feeling unseen, unheard, and unsure of where I truly fit.
But over time, I began to reclaim my identity - not by choosing one side, but by embracing the both/and. I’ve learned to take up space in ways that feel true to me, honoring the nuance, strength, and resilience that come from living in that in-between.
Through music, creativity, and the art of listening, I found a place of belonging. And it’s what led me to this work. I became a mental health therapist to walk alongside other Women of Color and Millennials on their healing journey - because our stories, our voices, and our well-being matter.
my guiding principles for therapy
A Few Questions You Might Be Wondering…
-
I specialize in supporting high-achieving women, femme-identifying professionals, and BIPOC leaders across Washington State who are carrying more than most people can see.
Many of my clients are leaders, helpers, therapists, educators, and caregivers. They are competent and capable - and often exhausted.
They’re navigating burnout, anxiety, trauma, identity-based stress, and high-functioning depression while still showing up for everyone else.
As an EMDR therapist in Kirkland, WA, I help driven individuals slow down enough to heal - without asking them to shrink their ambition.
You don’t have to fall apart to deserve support.
-
I don’t separate mental health from lived reality.
My work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in a social justice lens. That means we name how stress is shaped by systems, culture, identity, family roles, and generational patterns - not just “mindset.”
I integrate EMDR therapy, nervous system regulation, and attachment work so we move beyond surface coping and into deeper processing.
We don’t just manage symptoms. We help your nervous system resolve what it’s been bracing against.
If you’re looking for an EMDR therapist in Washington State who understands both high performance and systemic stress, you’re in the right place.
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based trauma therapy that helps your brain reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer feel stuck or overwhelming.
When stressful or traumatic events aren’t fully processed, they can continue to impact how you think, feel, and respond — even years later. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to help the brain integrate these experiences in a healthier way.
Many clients seeking EMDR therapy in Kirkland or across Washington State report:
Reduced emotional intensity
Fewer intrusive thoughts
Greater clarity and self-trust
Relief from long-standing anxiety patterns
EMDR doesn’t erase what happened. It helps your nervous system recognize that it’s no longer happening now.
-
Yes! I offer EMDR therapy intensives in Kirkland, WA (Eastside) as well as extended-format sessions for clients across Washington State.
Therapy intensives are designed for individuals who want focused, accelerated healing rather than waiting months in weekly therapy. Options typically range from 1–3 day intensives and are ideal for:
Professionals with limited weekly availability
Clients preparing for major life transitions
Individuals wanting to process specific traumatic events
High-achievers ready for deeper nervous system reset
EMDR intensives allow us to move beyond surface coping and into meaningful reprocessing in a structured, supported format.
-
Yes — both!
I provide:

Virtual therapy for clients located anywhere in Washington State
In-person sessions are available in my Kirkland office, offering a private, calm space for deeper trauma work and EMDR intensives.
Virtual therapy allows clients across Washington State to access specialized EMDR therapy without commuting — while still receiving structured, effective treatment.
Both formats are held with the same level of presence, care, and clinical depth.
-
Because high-functioning doesn’t mean unburdened.
Many of my clients are praised for their strength and leadership - and privately depleted.
They may feel:
• Chronically exhausted
• Emotionally numb or reactive
• Responsible for everyone else’s stability
• Afraid that slowing down will cause everything to unravelYou don’t need a visible crisis to justify support.
As a trauma-informed EMDR therapist in Washington State, I help driven professionals address the nervous system patterns underneath over-functioning and burnout.
You are allowed to want rest.
You are allowed to want peace. If this resonates, scheduling a consultation is a powerful first step.
